Technology

A suite of innovative technologies like Natural Language Processing (NLP) interfaces, AAS-digital twins and Hybrid twins for simulation and predictive capabilities, and Digital Product Passports will be deployed to enable flexible manufacturing processes and highly - adoptable process chains.

Smart services

Reactive Functions

Placed close to machinery, reactive functions will offer swift corrective actions when issues occur.

Cognitive Functions

Cognitive functions will conduct condition monitoring, quality assessment, sensitivity tracking, and process simulation and prediction to help users make informed decisions on optimal production strategies.

Coordination Functions

Coordination functions will manage design and supply chain requirements for flexible manufacturing operations.

The project proposes a holistic framework that is based on 4 pillars:

  • Includes multi-source sensing of supply chain disruption indicators, implementation of reconfiguration models to adapt for internal and external disruptions, AI-tool for network optimization transmitting results to a Resilience Predictor for visualization through a scoreboard analyzer app.

  • Is based upon the industrial strategies for modelling and simulating MaaS operations, ensures the reliability of the M4ESTRO platform in terms of data sharing and smart service-level agreements and contracts for a reliable value chain within the network.

  • Includes the development of Hybrid Twins and interfaces to the Industrial Metaverse as well as multi-variable and multi-actor methods to conduct process simulations and for predictive operational purposes. The simulation results will be used to generate optimized scenarios for network resilience following a disruption.

  • Adopts tools and explanatory interfaces to support workers for better interaction and understanding of the events as well as training modules for optimised use of the platform and meaningful reactions.
