Data Spaces Symposium – Madrid | 10–11 February 2026​

The world’s leading event on data spaces enters its fourth edition – and is coming to Madrid! The Data Spaces Symposium brings together pioneering thinkers, innovators, and organizations shaping a connected, data-driven future.​

Under the motto “Scaling cross-border data ecosystems”, the 2026 edition will highlight how data apaces enable collaboration and competitiveness on a global scale.​

Following the success of previous editions — The Hague (2023), Frankfurt (2024), Warsaw (2025) — the Data Spaces Support Centre, together with BDVA, FIWARE Foundation, Gaia-X, and the International Data Spaces Association, is proud to host the 2026 edition on 10–11 February in Madrid, under the tutelage of the Gaia-X Hub Spain. Spain has emerged as one of the frontrunners, investing heavily in data spaces as a driver of innovation and competitiveness.​

Key themes in 2026 will include:​

• Data Spaces as value creators and enablers of uniting economies​

• Data Spaces as enablers of AI: providing the trustworthy data for future AI​

• Relevance of standards and interoperability: advancing international harmonization of data space technologies​

• Showcases of best practices and real-world impact: highlighting successful implementations and market-ready solutions​

• The first European Data Spaces Awards ceremony​

The DSSC will also highlight its achievements in its first three years, presenting the foundations it has laid for building and operating trusted data spaces.​

The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) brings together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policy-makers from all over Europe and other regions of the world to advance policy actions and industrial and research activities in the areas of Data and AI. 

This year, the event will take place from 12-14 November in Copenhagen, Denmark❗

The EBDVF 2025 is organised by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA), in collaboration with DTU – Technical University of Denmark and SDU – University of Southern Denmark.

The 15th IFAC Workshop on Intelligent Manufacturing Systems will be held in Koszalin, Poland, on September 11-12, 2025. The main focus of the workshop is on methods, techniques, and approaches related to the integration of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence into manufacturing processes. The goal is to enhance efficiency, productivity, flexibility, adaptability, and decision-making in manufacturing operations. The workshop will allow researchers and practitioners to share their achievements, innovations, and insights on intelligent manufacturing systems. Participants can be involved in discussions covering models, approaches, formal solutions, case studies, and real-life implementations. Discussions may be focus on the integration of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, edge and cloud computing, machine and deep learning, robotics, automation, data analytics, and advanced manufacturing technologies into manufacturing systems. Consequently, the workshop will encompass the latest research and development in the field, including state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies related to automation, digitalization, and manufacturing.

ICE IEEE/ITMC is the International Conference on Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, part of the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS). Organised by BDVA, Data Week 2025 will center its focus on the fundamental elements of Data Value creation. Artificial intelligence (AI) serves as a pivotal tool in unlocking data value through various means and this is why our event`s theme is “Odyssey of AI: Navigating the Data Seas”. Creating value from data also requires viewing it from an ecosystem perspective and fostering collaboration among multiple stakeholders, which lays the groundwork needed for research excellence, that is required to be rapidly put into action for competitiveness and societal benefit.

This year, Data Week will be a 2-day physical event taking place in Athens, Greece between 27-28 May. The event is organised by the Big Data Value Association, hosted by Cosmote – OTE and in collaboration with the following BDVA members: Athens Technology Center S.A. (ATC), Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), CORE Innovation Center, Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications – National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, FORTH and Neuropublic.

The 18th IFAC Symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing (INCOM2024) aims to bring together experts from various fields to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the context of twin transformation, under the flagship topic of “sustainable transformation towards autonomous manufacturing systems”. It is in the air — an unmistakable atmosphere of excitement at M4ESTRO! The Digital Transformation Summit is just around the corner, and we will be there! The renowned event is part of the high-level Madeira Digital Transformation Week event being held this year on 24 - 28 June 2024 on Madeira Island, in Portugal.
